Lisa currently serves as Director of Talent Solutions, Chicagoland for LeadersUp. In this role she utilizes her policy and program expertise to build relationships with government, education leaders, employers and other key stakeholders to advance opportunities for youth through talent development and training opportunities.
Lisa’s deep understanding of systemic barriers that impact youth of color comes from working for over eight years in state government as a Resource Administrator for the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (IDJJ) and as Manager of the Office of Reentry Management for the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC). Lisa’s work at IDJJ and IDOC centered around building relationships with community colleges, non-profits and other entities aimed at increasing educational, vocational and workforce development outcomes for offenders returning to community.
Prior to joining IDOC and IDJJ, Ms. Hampton was a Senior Policy Associate at the Chicago Jobs Council focusing on workforce development issues for people living in poverty, including race and hiring practices and employment barriers for ex-offenders.
She is currently Vice President of the Board of Directors for Inspiration Corporation, a social service organization that helps people who are affected by homelessness and poverty through social services, employment, training and housing. She has served on the board for 14 years and has been involved in 5 strategic plans and two mergers within the organization.
Lisa received a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Social Policy from Northwestern University in 1995 and a Master’s from the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration in 2001.
