Kara Wright brings over 18 years’ experience helping organizations advance their diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. She is adept at assessing an organization’s strengths and challenges and tailoring her approach to its culture, goals and framework.
With extensive experience in training, facilitation, curriculum development and training of trainers, Kara has delivered hundreds of workshops and classes for thousands of participants in corporate, government, higher education, nonprofit, healthcare and community settings.
Kara is a 2017-2018 CUE Fellow for Racial Equity (Chicago United for Equity), Leadership Illinois Class Member of 2014, and Co-Chair of Board of Advisors for the Taste of Vegan Festival, the only vegan festival held on Chicago’s south side. She has also served on various boards of organizations focused on education, gender and race equity. She holds an undergraduate and graduate degree in multicultural and corporate communication.
Kara is the co-creator of the Envisioning Equity Series—day long conferences for inclusive organizations and the founder of Mindhearted.com, a training and education resource for parents around the globe that want to raise culturally conscious children.
After living on Chicago’s north side for over 20 years, Kara and her family have recently moved to the south side neighborhood of Bronzeville where she is a community member of the 42nd Street Garden and the best block club ever.
