Many organizations are engaged in ongoing strategic planning, an exercise which examines and reformulates organizational systems and processes with the goal of setting a direction for the future. We believe this is the perfect time to do racial equity work because racism can be built into every single aspect of our organizations, from hiring to communications to fundraising and more. Incorporating a racial equity lens into the strategic planning process is an excellent way to make progress toward becoming anti-racist organizations.
The day-long Envisioning Equity conference will focus on teaching organizations how to align your strategic planning process to ensure that the resulting mission, vision, policies, and procedures will combat racial inequity at structural and systemic levels. The program will feature a keynote, a panel discussion, and a variety of breakout sessions with people specializing in different aspects of racial equity and strategic planning to assist your team.
